Rocks & Rubble

Rocks are quite an easy terrain piece to build.

Just take a piece of polystyrene and either using a hotwire cutter or a sharp knife cut out rough shapes from the polystyrene.

The shapes can be any way you want them to be, you can have old rocks being the remains of an age old building, a large boulder or a just pile of rocks.

With the shapes cut, glue them onto a hardboard base and when the glue is dry paint the shapes in textured paint or ready mixed wall filler.

For added effect glue smaller rocks and rubble on the base around the larger rock.

For painting the rocks, just undercoat dark grey, drybrush on lighter shades of grey and add a final highlight of white to the rock.

To finish the terrain piece, paint the grass areas green and when the paint is dry, paint PVA glue onto the area that are going to have grass on them and sprinkle on flock, leave to dry and then dust off the excess flock.

You can add flock to the rocks to show moss growing on them.
